Professional Emulator for the Texas Instruments
MSP430 Family.
The MSP430 is a 16 bit single chip microcontroller with LCD drive and A/D convertor that will only consume an incredible 400 microamps active and 0.1 microamps in powerdown. With a 1.2 AH lithium battery an MSP430 system can operate for over ten years. The RISC based core of the MSP430 is still able to outperform conventional 4 and 8 bit microcontrollers. The processing power of the MSP430 is further improved by a hardware multiplier module which supports single cycle multiplies.
The MSP430 was originally designed
for utility metering applications but is ideally suited for hand
held equipment or any application requiring a long battery life.
Its low power consumption also makes it suitable for equipment
operating in intrinsically safe environments.
A full set of development tools is now available from Hitex including an ANSI C compiler from IAR and a real time non-intrusive In Circuit Emulator that fully supports the low power low voltage operation of the MSP430 family.
